Made with skill.
Carried forward by hand.
Behind every textile is a person who knows its material, its process and the patience it asks for. We value the makers and specialist craft practices that bring character to the pieces we create.
Deepa of Meraki by Deepa
Through Meraki by Deepa, Deepa works with hand-painted silk apparel and accessories. Each painted surface brings the maker’s hand directly into the finished piece, giving the work its own character and individuality.
For Earthy Yarns, this practice speaks to the value of skilled making: the attention, time and personal expression that cannot be replicated exactly from one piece to the next.
A quiet shimmer, made by hand
Mukaish is a delicate hand-embellishment craft associated with Lucknow. Skilled artisans work small metallic elements into fabric to create a subtle shimmer, using careful placement and precise handwork rather than a heavy surface finish.
The craft carries knowledge passed between generations. Its beauty lies in restraint: a fine glint, a repeated motif and the patience required to bring each detail into place.
“A textile holds more than its material. It holds the knowledge and attention of the hands that shaped it.”
Respect for the hands behind the work
We want the people and processes behind our textiles to be recognised, not hidden behind the finished garment. Sharing these stories is one way to acknowledge the skill involved and keep traditional knowledge visible.
The page currently features the artisan and craft details available to us. Additional vendor names, locations and process photographs can be added as those details are confirmed.
